Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
“Regarding single issue sales: they are incredibly important to a lot of Image creators. On Rocket Girl, it’s by far the biggest chunk (of course, we don’t have a tpb yet). And every reader counts. A few thousand copies can make or break a series.”
I highly recommend reading the whole thing. It’s very, very fascinating, and great insight into the reality of doing business. In other news, you should be buying “Rocket Girl”, because that comic is the best. Or at least the fifth best.
– Hide ya kids! Hide ya wife! Frank Miller is doing a Reddit AMA today at 1 PM EST, and the world will likely never be the same after that event.
– Apparently “The Walking Dead” (TV show, not comic) has a plan for the show through season 12. Not sure about it, but my guess on the plan is that it is literally the comic. That’s a pretty good plan.
– Janelle Asselin dissects Chuck Dixon and Paul Rivoche’s rebuking of liberal politics in comics, and shares what they got wrong in the process.
– You’re almost there, SHIELD fans: Jonathan Hickman tweeted that he’s wrapped his work on the book, and Dustin Weaver only has ten more pages to draw. Almost there!
– Lastly, Jim Rugg is the best.
