– In case you were wondering why Marvel released “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” in April, as it’s normally not prime time for blockbusters, then I have this idea for you: maybe they wanted to prove that Marvel movies make bank no matter when they’re released, as they did by dominating the box office this week. With an estimated $96.2 million over the weekend, the film set the record for largest debut in April, and given the incredible response the film has generated, I’d imagine this is the rare blockbuster that will also have legs (especially considering it was, once again, released in April). Awesome stuff, and exciting for a person who freaking loved the movie. Congrats to all involved.

– On the heels of the rather substantial ramifications of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, USA Today has the latest scoop on how that will impact Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” going forward, with word from the showrunners and more. If you’ve seen the movie, you definitely know that the show will be hugely impacted by the events of the movie, and if you haven’t seen the movie, what in the hell is the matter with you? Stop reading and go watch it!

– Kelly Sue DeConnick talks to Fast Company about how she has become such a machine of superb quality, and as per usual with DeConnick related things, it’s filled with smart insights and great perspective. Well worth a read for creative people and KSue fanpeople.

– Robot 6 talked to one of my favorite people in comics, Kazu Kibuishi, and as per usual, you should check it AND his comics out. Because he’s good at them things.

– Straight out of MoCCA: Jim Rugg is releasing a new hardcover of “Street Angel” through AdHouse, and if you haven’t read it yet, may I recommend doing so by buying this hardcover?

– Not gonna lie: “Godzilla” looks amazing, and the new trailer just does more to convince me of that.
