Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– Although the role remains a mystery, it has been announced that Carrie-Anne Moss has been cast in Netflix’s AKA Jessica Jones. The press release mentions that she will be playing “a no-nonsense woman who could prove a powerful ally to Jessica… if Jessica doesn’t completely alienate her first.” Moss, best known for playing Trinity in The Matrix, joins Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and David Tennant in the series, set to debut late in 2015.
– A report has surfaced that claims to have the cast list of the upcoming Titans show, in development at TNT. Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon, Hawk and Dove, Starfire, and Raven are the supposed cast members, which would be an interesting mix of classic Titans, as well as some new faces. Barbara Gordon is the oddest addition here, but would probably be a character that could bring eyes to the show. Time will tell if this is the actual cast or not.
– A person claiming to be a former Marvel Studios intern on Reddit, always the most reliable source for information, claims that the shortlist for director of Thor: Ragnarok include Adam McKay, Gareth Edwards, and Matt Reeves. In addition, they claim that Marvel wants to, potentially, drop Darcy, the Kat Dannings character, from the films going forward, which seems a little less likely. I’m personally pulling for Edwards.
– Shang-Chi is getting a “Secret Wars” tie-in miniseries, written by W. Haden Blackman and illustrated by Dalibor Talajic, featuring a number of other Marvel characters with a history of martial arts. This sounds like a very interesting tie-in, and leads me to believe we may see some more interesting spinoffs from “Secret Wars.”
– Valiant continues to rack up the top tier talent and interesting announcements: Ales Kot and Adam Gorham are doing a four issue miniseries called “Dead Drop,” which has been described as “an unlikely cast of superhuman operators – X-O Manowar, Archer, MI-6 spymaster Neville Alcott, outdated android Beta-Max, and Quantum and Woody’s inside woman on the DCPD, Detective Alejandra Cejudo – fall in deep for an undercover conspiracy action thriller in the darkest corners of the Valiant Universe…”
– Capeless Crusader has a really interesting article about how comics journalism is becoming “regular” journalism, citing CBR’s coverage of Super Bowl commercials as proof positive. We try to balance our coverage of things non-comic, mostly leaving them for articles like the Rundown, and always keeping it comics related. That’s not a value judgment on other sites; that’s just how we roll.
– Hey, Angela is getting a new costume.
– And, finally, DC is declaring February “Harley Quinn” month. If only February wasn’t a month that already had a very important designation attached to it…
