– Rumors have been swirling for some time about Chris Pine joining the DC film universe and, now, it appears that he is in talks to play Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman. Trevor, a character who can be best summed up as “blonde army dude,” has historically been Diana’s love interet, and seems to be playing the same role in the upcoming film. Pine, best known for his role in the Star Trek reboot, seems to at least partially fit the character description.

– In what can only be described as glorious, glorious news, Ed Piskor’s “Hip Hop Family Tree” will be going monthly, starting in August. It appears that, at least to begin with, the series will be reprinting the stories that first appeared in the Fantagraphics graphic novels.

– We all knew that Chip Dzarsky would be writing “Jughead” for the relaunched Archie Comics, but until today it was unknown who would be illustrating the book. Well, it has been announced today that “Unbeatable Squirrel Girl”/”Subatomic Party Girls” artist Erica Henderson will be handling the art duties. Dang that book sounds awesome.

– Bleeding Cool believes that we will see Elektra in Daredevil Season 2, and seems to have some evidence to back that up.

– I’ve written before about how much I adore “Wilson” by Dan Clowes and, if reports are to be believed, Woody Harrelson and Laura Dern are in talks to star in a film adaptation, to be directed by Craig Johnson of The Skeleton Twins.

– Top Shelf is adapting Hunter S. Thompson’s “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” as a graphic novel this fall, illustrated by Troy Little (of “Powerpuff Girls” fame). This is an unexpected, and interesting, project for Top Shelf.

– IDW is teasing a Russian/post-World War II series written by cyberpunk/sci-fi author William Gibson.

– And, finally, Grumpy Cat comics are soon to be a thing?
