Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– In the story that I just wish would die front, artist Chris Sprouse has left the Adventures of Superman online series from DC due to the circumstances tied to Orson Scott Card and the protests of the book over his beliefs. Sprouse was set to draw the story from Card and Aaron Johnston, and for me, losing Sprouse working on a Superman book is the biggest tragedy of the story so far.

Please do us a favor DC and just get rid Orson Scott Card off this book, if only to get this story to die and Sprouse to doing a Superman book. God forbid you do something that would earn you some positive PR for once.

– In what can be considered the best delay news I’ve ever read for a book, Brian Wood and Olivier Coipel’s upcoming X-Men title (the one with the all-female cast) has seen its start delayed from April 17 to May 29. CBR has the story, including the update Wood dropped on Twitter in which he shares that its so Coipel can hit the schedule, which I could not support more.

“Yes, we’re changing the schedule for the X-Men launch,” Wood said. “This is to ensure we don’t need fill-ins. And it’s temporary, we’ll be back to normal within a couple months.”

The central flaw with Marvel Now! so far, for me, has been how quick artists have seen fill-ins. It’s not a huge problem, but if you have someone like Coipel on a book, I’d rather continue having him work on it instead of have fill-ins. Because he is Olivier freaking Coipel.

The Mary Sue talks Game of Thrones, as the adorable Emilia Clarke dealing with the frustration of being so invested in her character yet not knowing whether or not she’s going to win said Game. It’s not a huge story, but it is a fun one.

Speaking of fun, coming on the heels of The National recording a song for Thrones last year, rock gods (in my world) The Hold Steady are doing the same as they are crafting “The Bear and the Maiden Fair” for season three. MTV Geek has the story – and the lyrics – which MC EIC Matt Meylikhov factors in quite a bit into the third book/season. Most of all, The Hold Steady!

– Three more roles were cast in The Sixth Gun pilot at NBC, most notably James LeGros as the lovable BillJohn O’Henry. I know for a fact that Cullen Bunn loves Bill John AND had an idea for who he wanted to be cast as him I’m very curious if LeGros is that person, but I can say I think that was a great casting.

– Arune Singh tweeted about five announcements coming from SXSW and Marvel this Sunday at 1 PM Central, and emphasized that the game was going to be changed with them. On one hand, Arune is a PR guy so you could expect him to overstate things. On the other hand, he doesn’t seem the type. Interested to see what is coming, but expect it to be digital related, possibly focused on AR and undoubtedly tied to the recent teasers Marvel has been running.

Newsarama has an as per usual scintillating interview with Brian Azzarello about the upcoming 100 Bullets reprise Brother Lono he’s doing with Eduardo Risso. More importantly, they have a look at Dave Johnson’s first cover. Shockingly, given that it is Johnson, it is freaking awesome.

– Finally, for those looking to have a Shazam book created, may I be the person who starts your petition to get Francis Manapul to draw it? Check out this piece he Instagrammed yesterday. Next level amazing.
