Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– In news that actually shouldn’t be at all surprising, it’s been revealed that one of Marvel’s big comic events next year is going to be “Civil War II”. Because, I mean, if you’re going to have Captain America: Civil War be one of your big movies for the year, you might as well cross-promote it in the comics, right? So far all we know is that the main series will be by Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez and the image promoting the series features Sam Wilson as Captain America which is going to be amazing to explain to people coming out of the movie.
– Like the endless corridors of my nightmares where the exit always seems just out of reach, Marvel has announced that they’re delaying “Secret Wars” #9… by a week. This is never going to end, is it?
– So, Daredevil and Jessica Jones have been smash hits for Marvel and Netflix and that’s putting it charitably. The critical and fan reaction to both series has been immensely positives and with Daredevil fast-tracked to a second season for next year and Luke Cage filming, eyes are beginning to turn to the Ringo Starr of The Defenders foursome: Iron Fist. Well, it’s been announced that Scott Buck, who’s worked on Dexter and Six Feet Under, will be the showrunner for Iron Fist. Kinda sad no one got in touch with The RZA to do it, though.
– Excited for Star Wars? Missing the dumb Star Wars vs. Star Trek arguments of your high school days? Well, goods news! The first trailer for Star Trek Beyond will play ahead of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, just to incite nerd flame wars in the audience before the movie begins.
– Reeling from last night’s big reveal in Supergirl? Be on the look out for my Five Thoughts on the episode coming later today, but the Supergirl train ain’t stopping any time soon as the show will be getting a digital-first tie-in comic apparently in a similar vein to “Arrow Season 2.5” and “The Flash Season Zero”.
