Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– Bruce Timm talks with Comics Alliance about his return to DC animation for Batman: Strange Days, a short that debuted today on Cartoon Network. He talks about the controversy around his departure from DC animation, his perception of the character, other projects he has coming up, and much more. Take a look, and gaze upon the master.
– Rich Johnston reminds everyone of quotes from DC bigwigs Bob Wayne and John Cunningham not so long ago, about how relaunches and events weren’t so necessary. On the heels of Suicide Squad and Teen Titans getting relaunched, we have to ask, “what were you saying exactly?”
– I have no idea why this exists, but whoever ends up owning this epic mash up by Ed Piskor featuring Blaster, Soundwave and an array of GI Joe characters is now the envy of Chad Bowers, myself and certainly many others. Amazing.
– Get a look at the trailer for Gary Whitta and Darick Robertson’s “Oliver”, their book that is coming from Image Comics that was announced a couple years back. Looking good!
– Pretty sure I read this before, but just like when we wrote about it, I disagree with the idea that Marvel Studios fans are going to get overwhelmed my crossovers and interactions between shows/movies like comic readers have. They just don’t get released often enough for that to happen, in my mind.
