– In what can only be considered bad news for fans of the show, production has halted on Constantine, meaning that the initial 13 episode order will be the entirety of season one and, potentially, the entire series. Deadline is quick to point out that this is not a cancellation notice, but rather an indicator of the late in the season debut forcing NBC to make a decision on future episode orders earlier in the schedule than for a show that debuted at a more “normal” date. While a second season is possible, it is probably unlikely.

– In other news coming out of Deadline, BOOM! Studios has sold two of its properties to 20th Century Fox, who has a first look deal with the publisher (essentially a first crack at any books before other networks/companies can attempt to adapt them). One is “Deep State,” written by Multiversity pal Justin Jordan and illustrated by Ariela Kristantina, and the other is “The Rinse,” written by Gary Phillips and drawn by Marc Laming (coincidentally, one of the first books I reviewed for Multiversity). Congratulations to all four creators, and we look forward to seeing the projects coming to fruition.

– Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg has, more or less, confirmed that Batman and Superman are totally off limits to Arrow and The Flash, as well as their respective home cities. This seems to be obvious, but with the recent official pronouncement that the cinematic and television universes are separate, there might have been a chance for an appearance somewhere down the line.

– Kreisberg’s fellow producer, Marc Guggenheim, has said that having Barry Allen show up on Arrow has convinced him that superheroics can work on the show. “What’s fun about episode 8 for Arrow is it proved to me, as a writer and a producer, hey, you know what? You can do metahumans on ‘Arrow’ without feeling like the show is changing its tone too much,” said Guggenheim.

BoingBoing has a great behind the scenes at “Saga” piece up, written by the man himself, Brian K. Vaughan, which shows how the creative team works together on an issue. This is essential reading for prospective creators out there.

– If you have access to one of these theaters, you’ll be able to see an 88-second trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens this weekend. Here’s to hoping it gets a quick online release for those of us that can’t get to the cinema this weekend.

– Nicktoons is adding The Legend of Korra back to its schedule with new episodes as of November 28th.

– Frank Grillo has confirmed that he will be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to reprise his role as Brock Rumlow, aka Crossbones, in Captain America: Civil War.

– There is a brand new Batman: Arkham Knight trailer, and it makes me further regret the fact that I stopped playing video games in college.

– And, finally, from the annals of “things I never thought I’d write,” here comes a doozy: check out this Rob Liefeld-drawn variant cover to Dynamite’s “Prince Valiant” #1.
