Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– In the most awesome-est news of the day (possibly the week, but it’s a little early to call) Nate Cosby and Chris Eliopoulos’ “Cow Boy” has been optioned for TV by Dreamworks Animation. Prepare for this to be the next best cartoon.
– For some reason the Transformers films are successful enough that they now want to begin emulating Marvel Studios by creating a cinematic universe and their writers room has gained another member: Daredevil season one showrunner Steven S. DeKnight. If this can get us a good Transformers movie, I am all for it, but I’ve been burned before. Like, four different times.
– This weekend, if you go see Jurassic World in IMAX, you’ll get a preview of Ant-Man. Because I guess that’s an enticement? Either way, here’s a trailer for it with some new footage of Ant-Man
– Speaking of movies, the first trailer for Ridley Scott’s adaptation of The Martian (a prose novel, not a comic, but whatever) and it looks pretty good so anyone who enjoyed Interstellar or Gravity should definitely check it out, even if it is a bit spoil-y.
– Seth Rogen continues to prove that the “Preacher” adaptation over at AMC is shaping up pretty nicely.
– Still sad about “Supreme Blue Rose” coming to an end? Well, fret not: Warren Ellis and Tuls Lotay are announcing a new comic at Image Expo.
