Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.
“Superman may be the first super hero anyone is aware of. Even before we know what super heroes are, we know who Superman is. To be even a small part of that legacy is a great honor and a personal joy to work with. I think there is a lot to say with Superman, even after all these years. I hope to do more someday.”
– Is Benicio del Toro going to be a lead role in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movie? That’s what it sounds like, and the rumor is this character will be hugely important to the Marvel universe. Could it be Thanos, or possibly Black Bolt? It’s entirely possible. Get those fanboy minds a racing!
– Rich Johnston over at Bleeding Cool has another tasty rumor which, admittedly, might not be real. But if it is, so awesome! The rumor: a new X-book is on its way, this one focusing on the younger X-characters in the vein of New X-Men and/or Generation X. Given the emphasis on them recently, that only would make sense, so here’s me crossing my fingers.
– Once upon a time, Gerard Way pitched DC on a Batman series titled “Kingdom of the Mad.” Sadface, as Way mentioned, to it not getting made, but Robot 6 has a look at some of the art they developed for the book. It’s a damn shame it wasn’t made, but sometimes things like that happen.
