Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.
– Paul Pope talks to Newsarama, clarifying comments transcribed from a convention appearance that found him sharing that DC only wants to make comics for 45 year olds. Basically? The reports were accurate, Pope just wanted to clarify details and intent of what he said (as he has a very positive relationship with DC overall). This interview is also very interesting for Pope – whom I think of as a very adult creator – and his thoughts on all-ages comics and the uncanny lack of them in the market.
– Do you like good comics? Of course you do, as you’re reading Multiversity, one of the best places for comic awesomeness on the internet. But if you like good comics, you should have read Rick Remender’s (and Jerome Opena, Esad Ribic, Billy Tan, Phil Noto, Dean White…) run on Uncanny X-Force. It was our best comic of 2011, and one of the best runs in comic history. Now, according to Amazon, there will be an omnibus collecting all of that series. This, my friends, is outstanding news.
– Did you miss Darth Vader in last week’s Infinity #1? THE CROSSOVER BEGINS HERE!
– Scotland’s Sunday Herald has a really, really interesting list of the 50 best graphic novels ever, and it’s well worth a browse. My only issue? Y THE LAST MAN IS NOT A GRAPHIC NOVEL. We have been over this non-comic folks!
– X-Men: Days of Future Past wrapped, and Bryan Singer, Hugh Jackman and others say “see you in the theaters!” I can’t wait!
