– While this is still a rumor, it appears the Drew Goddard, originally tapped to write and direct the upcoming Sinister Six film, might actually be the auteur behind the reboot of the Spider-Man franchise all together. Various outlets are reporting that the new film, rumored to be called The Spectacular Spider-Man, will be produced by Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige, and that it will cast a teenager in the lead role. Besides the constant “No More Uncle Ben Death Scenes!” chant I have going, I also have one more hope for the series: I hope that, since we’ve seen the adjective-less series, the Amazing series, and now the Spectacular series, that the 2023 reboot will be called Web of Spider-Man, so we can collect all 4 Blu-Rays with their hologram covers.

– It can be very easy to forget that DC is trying to turn “Lucifer” into a TV show, if only because DC has 8-1 (no joke) other shows in various stages of development or are already on the air. But, they are, and they’ve cast Tom Ellis from Rush (though, sadly, not from Rush) in the lead role.

– I do the Rundown twice a week, and I think at least one of those days for the last month I’ve linked to the announcement of a new “Secret Wars” title. Well, here goes again: “X-Tinction Agenda” by Marc Guggenheim and Carmine Di Giandomenico will revisit your favorite Havok-centric crossover from the 90s.

– In a bit of an ouroburos situation, Newsarama is reporting that Michelle Rodriguez isn’t going to be playing Power Ring, aka the Green Lantern from Earth-3, in the new Green Lantern film. The funny part about that is that Newsarama is also the site who started that rumor. Journalism!

– You know it is a slow news morning when I’m reporting that Jared Leto got a haircut and shaved for his role as the Joker in Suicide Squad. Well, there go my dreams of a swarthy Joker. At least I’ll always have Ceasar Romero and his mustache under the greasepaint.

– And, finally, if I had more time this week, I’d start a meme of “What is Hawkeye distracted by in the Avengers: Age of Ultron poster?” and it would be great. I’d start it with a thought bubble saying “Did I Unplug the Iron?” Make it happen, intarwebs!
