– According to The Wrap, Marvel is negotiating with writer/producer Drew Goddard (Lost/Alias) to write the upcoming “Daredevil” series for Netflix. I’m sure there are a variety of opinions on this, but for me, I’m totally onboard with this idea. Meanwhile, Deadline reports that Melissa Rosenberg (writer of the “Twilight” adaptations) is going to be the showrunner for the “Jessica Jones” show, which isn’t exactly awe inspiring given her rather mixed bag of a past (her most positive, notable jobs were writing for “Dexter” and “The O.C.”). Here’s hoping she does a good job, but it seems a bit…subpar on the surface.

– Both the “Fantastic Four” reboot film and the adaptation of Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons’ “Secret Service” have been bumped back, as the FF film went from March 2015 to June 19, while the spy film went from November to FF’s previous release date of March 4, 2015. Newsarama posits that this is a vote of confidence for the former, which is arguably true, but it might be a vote of no confidence for “Secret Service”. To go from near Thanksgiving to the wasteland of the early part of the year is a bit sketchy, but it remains to be see if that means anything, especially given the ascent of that part of the year in recent years.

– Guillermo del Toro talks about the status of “Justice League Dark” and how DC is taking its time, as they want it to fit into the overall plan they have for their movie and TV initiatives.

– One of my least favorite things is when “true” journalistic outfits like the Washington Times write about comics, as they tend to handle comics in embarrassingly bad ways. This might be the single worst article I’ve read in recent memory, as it manages to insult various religions, fan bases, publishers, sexualities and an entire medium while accomplishing absolutely nothing. Putting “Editorial” in front of something doesn’t justify woeful ignorance and abhorrent writing, and not putting a writer on the article makes it all the more embarrassing.

Editorial: the Washington Times is an absolute, embarrassment of a rag that just solidifies its ultimate pointless existence with pieces like that one they posted yesterday. Stick to what you do well, which near as I can tell is nothing.

– Jim Gibbons, Andrew MacLean and Ryan Hill teamed up for a quick webcomic called “Mars: Space Barbarian”, and its well worth a read. Well done to Gibbons on writing his first comic!

– Congrats to Scott Snyder on potentially selling his Image series “Why the Last Man”!
