Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– With San Diego Comic Con literally just days away, the rumor mill is starting up for what, if any, film projects DC and Marvel will announce at the convention. Well, while doing rumor for his Alan-Moore upsetting Hercules film, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been, once again, teasing an upcoming DC role, and all signs point to Captain Marvel Shazam. I will say this: if done right, he could be perfect. Just bill him as Dwayne “The Rock of Eternity” Johnson (credit: some dude on Twitter I’ve since forgotten).

– Lucy “Xena” Lawless has signed on to appear on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., although no other details have been released. Any guesses?

– Yesterday was the day of Cullen Bunn news – first, from Dark Horse comes the new creator owned series “Harrow County” for Dark Horse, illustrated by the great Tyler Crook. But that’s not all – he will also be writing “Masks II,” a Dynamite miniseries bringing many of their licensed characters together for a mini. Congrats, Cullen!

– According to Bleeding Cool, DC editor Anthony Marques has left the company…to draw a book for Dark Horse.

– The New York Times takes a look at comic sales and, specifically, the tension and cooperation between print and digital books.

Newsarama talks to Joe Quinones and John Arcudi about their upcoming, WWII-set “Savage Wolverine” story. If that team doesn’t sell you, there’s the door, ya creep.

– Mike Mignola has drawn a poster for a Toy Story special – yes, you read that right. And yes, it is awesome.

– Kevin Feige talks both the “perfect fit” of Dr. Strange and the director of his upcoming adaptation, Scott Derrickson, as well as the legal mumbo jumbo complicating the making of a Namor film.

– Mondo, makers of some of the best posters around, have branched out into making toys. One of their first forays is this Iron Giant toy, which will look lovely under my Christmas tree this year.

– And, finally, the Onion just nails it.
