It’s the Rundown! And today we’re bringing you the rest of the best news from ECCC this year that wasn’t covered last time.
– First off, CBR has an exclusive interview with Joe Harris about the just-announced “X-Files: Season 10” series from IDW that he and Michael Walsh will be at the helm of.
– It was announced that Sean E. Williams will be the new writer of “Fairest” and also that March 3 will see the launch of a new Monkeybrain title written by him titled “Artful Daggers”. CBR also has an interview with him on both of these subjects.
– It was also announced that Titmouse, the animation studio famous for Metapocalypse, Venture Bros. and Motor City, will be teaming up with Jim Mahfood and Johnen Vasquez. Mahfood’s project is titled “D.I.S.C.O. Destroyer” and is set to air on MTV at some point. The animation studio is also working with Vasquez to adapt “Squee!” as a animated short film and “Johnny The Homicidal Maniac” as a feature length animated film.
– On the DC side of things, “Justice League Dark” and “Constantine” co-writer Ray Fawkes will be writing “Trinity Of Sin: Pandora”. The series is going to hopefully shed some more light on the mysterious figure that has been around since the start of the New 52 and will be a companion piece to “The Phantom Stranger”.
– Joshua Williamson will be writing a new series over at SkyBound titled “Ghosted” which he describes as ”Ocean’s Eleven’ but in a haunted house instead of a casino’. He will be joined by Goran Sudzuka on interior art and Sean Phillips will be providing cover art. The series will be a five issue miniseries.
– Matt Fraction announced at Marvel’s Pint O’ C.B. panel that not only will an upcoming issue of “Hawkeye” be a Pizza Dog focused mystery, but there will be an issue dedicated to sign language after Hawkeye’s hearing is damaged. I really want to see how they pull that off.
– After a number of successful miniseries’, many of Dark Horse’s superhero titles will be moving to ongoing series. “Ghost”, “X” and “Captain Midnight” will all be getting ongoing series this year. “X” will launch in May, “Captain Midnight” in July and “Ghost” some time in the fall.
