Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.
– According to Bleeding Cool and buzz at SDCC, it sounds like Justin Jordan has walked away from Superboy because of the much hated “creative differences.” It remains to be seen if that is actually true, but given what has been going on over at the Distinguished Competition lately, it would not be surprising in the least.
– Speaking of Bleeding Cool, they share the fact that Hawkeye is going to have a skip month coming up with issue #13. That makes me sad, but at least I know about it ahead of time to emotionally prepare myself.
– What does Diane Nelson, President of DC Comics, think is the best possible option for a movie based on DC books? Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, actually, which she believes could be as rich a subject as the Harry Potter series. While I think it’s both too dark and too little known to garner the same attention as something like Justice League, it is heartening that she is thinking a little outside the box and outside the insane asylum unlike the rest of DC. But she also mentions Metal Men and Aquaman as options though, so…you know.
– In case you didn’t know, Natalie “Tally” Nourigat is totally freaking awesome, and she loves to do reaction comics to recent movies. Most recently? Pacific Rim. It’s pretty great, and her “best job ever” part? Totally the best job ever.
