Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– The producers of the Harry Potter films and the director of “A Royal Affair” (Nijolaj Arcel) are bringing Bill Willingham and Mark Buckingham’s “Fables” to the big screen, and it’s looking like a major initiative for Warner Bros. While I’m a little skeptical about it working as a movie – that is unless they just focus on the first arc – and see it more as a TV show given its sprawling narrative, I’m happy for Willingham and Bucky. This book has been one of the best for a long time (it was Multiversity’s pick for best ongoing of the previous decade), and it will be cool to see it get a bigger audience perhaps through a movie coming out.

– Prepare for a little death: “Game of Thrones” showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are writing an episode for the upcoming season of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”

– Struggling on how to create the next big event for your comic? Over at the newly reformed Comics Alliance, they share Kate Willaert’s Modern Superhero Comic Event Picker, and it’s pretty great.

– Apparently Marvel is going to flood the market with those most excellent Skottie Young baby variant covers he’s been doing. This is great if you just want a copy, not so great if you’ve been looking to sell them…which I’m not. Yay me!

– Do you like comic collectibles? Well, a cool one is coming, as DC Collectibles is crafting an awesome looking New 52 Swamp Thing. Check it out at CBR.
