Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– Reports are surfacing that Tim Blake Nelson has signed on to play either the Mole Man or Harvey Elder, the alter ego of the Mole Man, to set up a future role as the villain in a sequel. Nelson, best known for his role in O, Brother, Where Art Thou?, previously played The Leader in the Ed Norton starring The Incredible Hulk film.
– Despite its remaining episodes being burned off at 3 A.M., Beware the Batman has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy. While the show was certainly no Batman: The Brave and the Bold (but really, what could be?), it seems like Cartoon Network never really wanted this show to work, or at least gave up on it very, very quickly.
– Congratulations to Paul Tobin, who appears to have signed a very lucrative deal to create a series of 5 books aimed at middle school aged kids. The tentative title for the series is “Pay Attention to Egghead,” and the first installment is due winter 2016.
– Over at Vulture/New York Magazine, Brian Michael Bendis gives a very thoughtful interview about his time writing Spider-Man, though I’d have to seriously doubt the article author’s claim that no writers have ever thought about Spider-Man more than Bendis and Stan Lee.
– Emma Rios has drawn the poster for next week’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and it is a beauty.
– John Layman says the next announcements about the “Chew” animated adaption will blow our minds. Can’t wait!
– And finally, Mike Norton shares a heartwarming moment from C2E2. No wonder everyone wants to be his roommate!
