Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– The estate of Joe Shuster is trying to recruit the Supreme Court in its quest to reclaim Shuster’s stake in Superman, as they posit that Shuster’s siblings didn’t have the right to sell Joe’s share of the character for a $600,000 up front payment and a $25,000 a year stipend for each of them. Combine this with the events transpiring on the Jack Kirby front and you have two huge situations coming to a head soon, it seems. I am sure you will hear A LOT about this in the future, and hopefully only in a good way.
– Zainab Akhtar shares her five favorite landscape comics at Comics & Cola, and her list has two books I agree with entirely and three books I need to find and read. Great stuff, as per usual, at C&C.
– Gamora, Groot and Rocket Raccoon get character posters for “Guardians of the Galaxy”, and I imagine this will not be the last time you hear something Guardians related from Multiversity today.
– Bleeding Cool speculates that Kieron Gillen could be writing a Doctor Strange book in the future, and you know what? I think that would be awesome. But let’s be honest: everyone thinks that would be awesome.
– “Transformers vs. G.I. Joe” cartoonist Tom Scioli reviewed “Transformers: Age of Extinction” for Comics Alliance, and of course it is worth a read.
