– I’m going to be perfectly honest: anyone besides Esad Ribic on Thor: God of Thunder makes me sad. That’s been my favorite book of 2013 so far, and Ribic is a HUGE part of that. However, if you’re going to give me someone that isn’t him, making it Ron Garney is a big way to make up for it. He’ll be pairing with oft collaborator Jason Aaron on it, as he joins for five issues starting with #13 as Thor squares off against Malekith, the dirty bastard Dark Elf that has frequently been a thorn in Thor’s side.

– As part of the Valiant (Re)visions team, I have some good and some bad news to share from C2E2. On one hand, Greg Pak and Trevor Hairsine are making an Eternal Warrior book, which is totally awesome and brings us THIS close to Pak teaming with Fred Van Lente in an EW/Archer & Armstrong crossover. On the downer side, Duane Swierczynski will be leaving Bloodshot, as that book will become Bloodshot HARD Corps with Christos Gage taking over. I love Gage, but Swierczy has been killing it on that book. Sad panda.

Over at Bleeding Cool, they share some C2E2 news from Avatar that includes some big stuff, like Garth Ennis creating a sci-fi book a la Alien, George R. R. Martin writing a superhero comic, and more. Big stuff, for sure, and that’s without mentioning the apparent arrival of a Alan Moore follow-up to Neonomicon. Cray cray.
