Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– Nathan Fairbairn walks readers through the process of coloring one of the flagship pages of “The Multiversity: Pax Americana”, and if that dude has hair left that isn’t gray after the experience of coloring that issue of Frank Quitely art, he’s built of sterner stuff than I. Amazing work and worth a read.
– Two hearts, one love: one of our favorite folks in comics left his position, as John Schork left Oni Press from his role as Director of Publicity at the comic publisher. Best of luck in whatever is next for you, John!
– The pilot for “Outcast”, the Cinemax adaptation of the Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta comic, has filled out its cast with four new actors, including two supremely awesome ones. Reg E. Cathey (“The Wire”) will be Giles, the Chief of Police in the town the story takes place, and the most excellent Wrenn Schmidt (“Boardwalk Empire”) will be playing Megan Holter, lead Kyle Barnes’ adopted sister. Schmidt is my favorite addition, and her role in “Boardwalk Empire” will be a great foundation for this one as she provides a lot of heart, moral compass and sassiness to the book. Cathey is a welcome addition to any cast, if only because his voice is soooo smooooth. I’d listen to a radio show if he hosted it.
– So apparently Chris Ryall and musician Ryan Adams made a deal via Twitter yesterday for Adams to release a comic via IDW? That’s neat, but it seems so Ryan Adams that he’s making a comic.
– Before there was “Guardians of the Galaxy” Awesome Mix Volume One…there was Volume Zero! That volume was the one James Gunn and friends played on set to keep energy high, and Robot 6 shares it. Any play list that features Andrew WK and Lyrics Born is one I can support wholeheartedly.
– Stefan Petrucha is writing a prose novel about Deadpool, which might just be the worst possible idea I’ve ever heard of for a prose novel.
– In the only story dumb enough to top that last one, DC Comics is apparently suing La Liga football (think Europe) team Valencia FC over its usage of a bat in its team logo, claiming it’s too similar to the Batman logo (even though it looks nothing like it, save for the fact that they are both bats). This falls shortly after reports surfaced that DC was also suing small children everywhere for making shadow puppet bats, claiming that was copyright infringement and that the children should owe them $.20 per usage or profits from one of every three Tooth Fairy visits (whichever sum is greater). You’ve gone too far this time, DC.
