Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

“I was offered an exclusive with Marvel the day my daughter was born, and there’ve been times I’ve wondered what would’ve happened if I’d gone there instead of DC, honestly. But that’s about as specific as I can get.”
Like I said, an intriguing What If? Rucka wrote a beloved run on Wonder Woman, helped make Kate Kane a break out character in Detective Comics, co-wrote 52 and a few other projects. Extremely notable stuff, namely 52 and his work on ‘Tec, but like I said, an intriguing what if.
– The big Marvel Firsts giveaway sure did a hell of a job in crashing ComiXology, and why not? Who doesn’t love free comics? Rich over at Bleeding Cool points out that there are already an array of free comics for your taking at any time. Quite a few in fact – 525 total books. It’s quite the list and worth a look for many of us comic readers. My personal recommendation? The first issue of Locke & Key: Keys to the Kingdom, the fourth mini-series in Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez’s brilliant series. For those wondering if it’s a bad place to start, let me say this: this stunner of an issue, with heavy Bill Watterson influences, was the first issue I ever read in the series. You’ll be hooked from there.
– Anybody wondering when the Marvel Heroes MMO is dropping? Maybe? Maybe? Well it looks like it’s officially arriving June 4th (May 28th for some lucky chaps), and Comics Alliance shares more details about that along with a new trailer for the game. Many say it should be awesome. Someone will have to tell me later if it actually reaches that promise.
– Ever wonder what would happen if you mashed up Downton Abbey and The Walking Dead? Apparently writer Rob Kutner and artist Kody Chamberlain did, as they created a 2 and a half minute video imagining that sort of combination. With the assistance of voice work from people like the immortal Thomas Lennon, people like Nerdist’s Chris Hardwick assure us (by yelling loudly at us) that this is pretty damn awesome. Check it out.
