– 7 months before its release, Marvel must be feeling pretty confident in Guardians of the Galaxy as, reportedly, the unnamed sequel has been scheduled for May 6, 2016. While I am quite excited for the film, I also see this as Marvel’s biggest risk so far and a film that banking a sequel on is probably not all that wise.

– The executive producers of Arrow had a long chat with Comic Book Resources on what the rest of season 2 has in store, and it can be summed up as this: a lot. From the Birds of Prey, the Suicide Squad, tons of villains, and more Roy and Ollie training, the show seems happy to not rest on its Laurels. Get it?

– If you thought Marvel had stupid numbering before, I’ve got news for you: say hello to “Daredevil” #1.50! Sure, it is celebrating the 50h anniversary of the character, but does it have to do so in such an aesthetically unappealing way? I must admit, Mark Waid writing Matt Murdock’s 50th birthday is a pretty cool way to approach the issue, but still – REGULAR NUMBERING PLEASE!

– Greg Thelen has launched a new webcomic called “30 Seconds to Live.” Each month, he will collaborate with a new artist – this month’s is Rachel Dukes. Check it out.

– Newsarama has the first preview of the Jason Latour/Mahmud Asrar iteration of “Wolverine and the X-Men” up and, good lord, does Asrar’s work look beautiful.

– Dean Haspiel doing a Escapo (new book by Paul Pope) pinup? Why not?

– Some parents are up in arms at PETA using a comic book to spread their message, specifically being upset at the visage of a mutilated cow. I’m not touching this one.

– And finally, a double shot of “what the fuck?” Who better to offer tips for changing the NBA All-Star Game than Axel Alonso? And, you all remember the “Emerald Archer, ” Green Lantern, right?
