Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– James Gunn, on his Facebook page, has shared the tracklisting of the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack, and revealed that many of the songs were part of an initial mix he gave Chris Pratt to listen to in order to get into the character of Star Lord. Anytime a soundtrack has some Norman Greenbaum on it, I’m sold!
– Bleeding Cool digs deeper into the new DC royalties program and exposes some potential problems with it. This is a complicated issue, but hopefully this is a step in the right direction.
– Our pal Jim Rugg has a great piece on Boing Boing about the start of the Ghost Variant. This is a must read.
– Stephen Amell is awesome; this we all know. What you may not know is that his San Diego Comic Con is shaping up to be something really special and interesting and social media-heavy. Read more here.
– Carol Kane has joined Gotham as Gertrude Copplepot, mother of Oswalt, the future Penguin. Kane is an Emmy winner, best known for roles in Annie Hall, The Princess Bride, and Dog Day Afternoon.
– Amazon has released its “Best Books of the Year So Far” lists, including for comics and graphic novels, which puts “Afterlife with Archie” in the top spot. That’s hard to argue with.
– And finally, what are you waiting for? Help get this Doctor Strange Lego set funded!
