Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– Greg Capullo versus Bleeding Cool is pretty good, as BC said he’s leaving “Batman” in 16 issues to bring “The Creech” back with Scott Snyder writing per Capullo himself at Baltimore Comic Con. Greg Capullo begged to differ on Twitter but, you know, I guess we’ll find out in a couple years.
– August 2014’s sales charts are out, and there’s some very interesting stuff coming out of it, with Image almost hitting 11% in unit share, Batman taking the top spot over the penultimate issue of Original Sin and the debut of The Multiversity, and a regular issue of The Walking Dead finishing at #6. There might be more coverage on this later when the full lists come out, but check out the breakdown over at Comichron by John Jackson Miller.
– Thea on “Arrow” is getting a love interest, as “The Carrie Diaries” veteran Austin Butler joins the cast to fill the role vacated by Roy Harper in last season’s finale. That’s an okay thing, but I recommend clicking the link because that is maybe the single most obnoxious looking person I have ever seen. It boggles my mind how over the top douchey that guy looks.
– More Roger Langridge is always welcome, and Boom! just announced a new four-issue mini-series from him called “Abigail and the Snowman”. Let’s be honest, this book looks ridiculously great, and Langridge is an Eisner and Harvey Award winner for a reason.
– If you need help getting more hyped for “Gotham”, Jock has provided animated illustrations to help take previews to the next level.
