Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– The spin-off to AMC’s “The Walking Dead” is getting closer to being a reality, as they’ve cast their male lead in Cliff Curtis. While I know I know nothing about the show besides it involving zombies and survivors, I’m in with Curtis as the lead. The guy’s a great actor, and his wigged out member of the “Sunshine” crew was one of my favorite performances in a top notch ensemble. Yes, please.
– Gilbert Hernandez started a new webcomic named “Roy in Hollywood” at Vice, and you can check out the first “issue” (screen?) now.
– Art community DeviantArt underwent a redesign/rebranding, and it’s looking pretty fantastic.
– Tom Spurgeon talks about his role as the Festival Director for Cartoon Crossroads Columbus, what his plans are, and what that means about Comics Reporter going forward.
– In response to the Pat Broderick controversy, Si Spurrier shares his thoughts on the idea that cosplayers are bad for cons. Spoiler alert: they’re not bad for cons. While I’m still not sure why we’re giving the guy who is maybe best known for drawing “Doom 2099” the time of day on the subject, it is a good response.
– CBR interviews John Ostrander about the recent “Suicide Squad” casting news, and he’s down with everything. If John Ostrander’s down with it, we should be too.
– Is Marvel looking to pair up the Avengers, X-Men and Spider-Man in a movie? According to Stan Lee, it’s of great concern to them, but as he openly admits, it’s not very likely it will happen.
