Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– This year’s Russ Manning Promising Newcomer Award nominees are out, and it’s a list of five newish creators who have shown themselves as being quite promising indeed. Interestingly, two of them have previously been nominated for this very award, which seems a little on the strange side to me.
– Over at Bleeding Cool, Rich theorizes that Morbius: The Living Vampire will end with issue #9. His reasoning? The now solicited collection puts together the first nine issues, which is an ENORMOUS trade paperback. Johnston believes this is because Marvel is straight up burning off all of the issues in one collection, and frankly, I imagine he’s right given its low sales. It will be interesting to see what happens.
– Also at Bleeding Cool is coverage of the Vertigo panel at the Bristol Comic Expo, which included two rather cool bits of news: Jeff Lemire will be releasing Trillium as a flipbook, with half of each page dedicated to each protagonist, and there will be an Unwritten prequel graphic novel released before the year is out. Wowza. Some rad news right there if I do say so myself.
