Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– Jim Zubkavich, a Multiversity favorite, apparently will be writing stories for the Legends of the Dark Knight anthology series over at DC. Having previously been announced as the writer for Birds of Prey (and being removed shortly thereafter), it’s great to see Zub get some honest-to-god, actually released work over at the Distinguished Competition. Not only that, but he’s pairing up with none other than Neil Googe (Welcome to Tranquility), a personal favorite of mine, who will be a perfect fit for a story that finds Batman squaring off against Harley Quinn. Totally awesome, and we’re happy for Zub. The man’s a champ, and it will be great to see his work on the character come May 9 and May 16.

– We know Gail Simone is writing an upcoming Red Sonja book, but now we have a look at Walter Giovani’s art for the book, as Bleeding Cool has a look at the first few pages. It’s nothing short of stunning work, and it looks like this is going to be one bonafide killer book. Check it out.

– Are you an aspiring artist? LeSean Thomas has something on his DeviantArt journal that you ABSOLUTELY should read, as he shares advice from none other than artist superstar Joe Madureira. It’s a really fascinating read that cuts the crap and talks about his failures and successes in the industry, and the keys to succeeding. Definitely worth a read.

– From the ashes of Comics Alliance comes…Comics Defiance from the mind of Chip Zdarsky! Scathing reviews! Batman! Green Lantern! All your comic needs!

– Finally, beware the “Scientifically Accurate Ninja Turtles.”
