Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.
– We now know that Joe Hill has wrapped the final script for Locke & Key (one of Multiversity’s absolute favorite comics). We know that Hill and L&K co-creator are one of the best teams in comics. Now, we know that they’ve been “approved on a cape thing.” Is it for Marvel? Is it for DC? Is it something completely different that we can’t predict? Who the heck knows. All I know is it means that JOE HILL AND GABRIEL RODRIGUEZ ARE GOING TO BE WORKING TOGETHER AGAIN!
Some creators should just work together because of a synchronicity in their work. Hill and Rodriguez? Definitely amongst that number.
– Curious as to what’s going on with that S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show? There’s a synopsis up at Newsarama, as well as the news that it has an official name: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Check out all the new info over at Newsarama, and look for that TV show…some time in the future with lots of Coulson action.
– The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) has announced that they have created a new advisory board that is designed to assist the CBLDF in protecting creator’s rights, and man, what an all-star list of creators. Co-chaired by CBLDF founder Denis Kitchen (creator of Kitchen Sink Press) and Neil Gaiman, the board also features Jim Lee, Chip Kidd, Frank Miller, Mike Richardson and Matt Groening, amongst others. It’s an incredible list, for sure, and speaks volumes as to how much creators believe in this endeavor.
