Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– A few weeks ago, we reported that Supergirl was going to be bringing Kara’s cousin Kal-El into the show, which was a surprising decision for a few reasons. There were questions about who would be cast, with Tom Welling seemingly getting a look, but today we have a definitive answer: Tyler Hoechlin, late of Everybody Wants Some and Teen Wolf will be playing Superman in a number of episodes next year. I’m not overly familiar with Hoechlin’s work, but he got the seal of approval from our own Alice W. Castle, and that’s good enough for me.
– Speaking of DC shows on the CW, Arrow is adding a new district attorney, and it is Adrian Chase, aka Vigilante! This is the second day in a row that Arrow has added a street-level crime fighter, and I’ve gotta say that I love it. Josh Segarra has previously appeared on Chicago P.D., but I’m not a grandma, so I’ve never seen that show.
– Spider-Man: Homecoming added two actors to its cast today, with Freaks and Geeks alumnus Martin Starr joining the film in an ‘unspecified role,’ and Logan Marshall Green of Prometheus in talks to join as a secondary villain, rumored to be the Tinkerer. While he’s not my first choice for a Spider villain on screen, if Michael Keaton is playing the Vulture (as has been rumored), it makes a ton of sense.
– Wonder Woman got a special new logo for her 75th anniversary, and it is pretty sharp. Let’s hope DC uses it to elevate the character and give her a second book (“Sensation Comics” is ripe for the picking).
– Despite the talk of many studios/films boycotting San Diego Comic Con this year, Marvel Studios and the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will still be there, so get ready to hug Vin Diesel, So Cal-ers!
– And, finally, if you’re at Heroes Con this year, make sure to enter the raffle to pick up a “Fuck HB2” variant of “4 Kids Walk Into a Bank” #1.
