– Comic movies are all over the place these days, but Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons’ “Secret Service” was a comic that not that many people read. Much to their happiness, though, many, many people went and saw it in its new form as “Kingsman: The Secret Service”, a Colin Firth starring movie that took second place in this past weekend’s box office, roping in $35.6 million to come behind only “50 Shades of Grey”. It’s well deserved, as I was part of their box office haul and that movie was a damn blast. For real. I liked the comic too, but the movie was a very, very good time. I recommend it.

– What’s that? Stan Sakai’s going ongoing with “Usagi Yojimbo” again in May? That, my friends, is some glorious news.

– I’m not sure if this is going to keep going today or if it ends today, but in response to “50 Shades of Grey” and its more or less support of abusive relationships, Matt Fraction is doing his part to support women suffering from domestic abuse. Buy a “Hawkguy” shirt from WeLoveFine.com today? Fraction may just match the donation that goes to the Futures Without Violence charity as a thank you for the support, and to do a little more good. If it is too late, there’s always supporting Futures Without Violence direct, which is always a good thing to do as well.

– Apparently DC is now managing CCO Geoff Johns workload, limiting him to only one ongoing series, which for him is all “Justice League”, all the time.

– Dark Horse is now selling their comics through Diamond at Books A Million.
