Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– Kim Coates of “Sons of Anarchy” fame has himself a new gig, as he’ll be starring in an adaptation of Joe Casey and Chris Burnham’s “Officer Downe” as the titular character. I’m not overly familiar with his work, but MCer Brandon Burpee is all in on it, so I’m down.
– Another “Secret Wars” tie-in has been revealed, as there will be a “Ghost Racers” – that’s right, not Ghost Rider – book from Felipe Smith and Juan Gedeon. It’s set to star Robbie Reyes, and like the book that previously starred him and was written by Smith, looks like a lot of fun.
– This piece from Philly.com is a very interesting look at online comics retailer Jim Drucker and his shop NewKadia.com. It’s an interesting look at blending a good business idea with very fortunate timing with the upswing of comics. It’s an interesting little piece.
– A man has died apparently from being uppercutted by Batman. Or at least that’s what his family had said in Stephen Merrill’s obituary in The Ledger, as he was a long time comic fan. One has to wonder if DC will have an issue with that, but as it currently stands, it’s a nice touch for a long time fan.
