Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– Big congrats to Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie for their GLAAD Award for “Outstanding Comic Book”, but come on, can we give McKelvie a bit of credit? Kind of sad to just see Gillen credited.
– Remember that part in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” where Cap was writing down the Troubleman soundtrack on things to try now that he’s been unthawed? That list was different in every country, and a user on Tumblr collected all of those for your viewing pleasure. Thanks Lucia!
– Congrats to both Ulli Lust and Gene Luen Yang for their very well deserved L.A. Times Book Prizes! Lust won the Graphic Novel/Comics prize for his GN “Today is the Last Day of the Rest of Your Life”, while Yang won the Young Adult category against four prose novels for his “Boxers & Saints” books. I love, love, love the latter, and it makes me happy for it to get some serious mainstream love like this.
– You should read this piece by Devin Faraci about the glut of superhero movies at movie theaters. It’s pretty brilliant.
– Harrison Ford gives the best Reddit AMA answer ever. And it’s not close.
– In case you ever wanted to see a llama dressed as Batman, you can now see that. FINALLY.
