– After a two year exclusive deal with Marvel Comics Jeff Lemire is stepping away from the company. He has completed all his work on “Moon Knight,” “Thanos,” and “Old Man Logan” and will be shifting his focus to his creator-owned book “Royal City.”

– In an interview with Deadline X-Men series producer Simon Kinberg confirmed that both Deadpool and Cable will feature in some part in the X-Force movie. Joe Carnahan and Ryan Reynolds are currently co-writing that script which is said to be Reynold’s top priority right now.

– Jason Isaacs, famous for his role as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter series, has been cast as Captain Lorca in CBS All Access’ Star Trek: Discovery. Isaacs joins The Walking Dead actress Sonequa Martin-Green, James Frain, and Anthony Rapp as the crew of the Starship Discovery.

– M. Dean, creator of “The Girl Who Flew Away” and “Coming Soon: Regents Walk,” has been awarded the inaugural Creators for Creators grant. This will put 30,000 at her disposal to produce her next project “I Am Young.”

– “Some of today’s greatest film franchises originated as comics. We always try to get involved with the storytelling process from its inception.” said Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson in a statement promoting their new book “Alien Bounty Hunter,” which is being produced as a comic with the intent of adapting it to film. The book is being produced by Adrian F. Wassel, David M. Boher and Nick Robles, based on a story by Levinson and FJ Desanto.

– Coby Bell has been cast in Fox’s unnamed-X-Men-pilot as Jace Turner, “a weathered man who quietly wrestles with moral ambiguities of a job that regularly requires cold-blooded, calculating efficiency on a day-to-day basis.”

– The CW has renewed Riverdale, or “Sexy Archie”, for a second season.

Adam West will make a guest appearance on Powerless as Chairman of Wayne Enterprises Dean West. This will be West’s second time working for the show, as he narrated the Wayne Security commercial in the pilot.

– The cast of Black Panther held a joint Coming to America themed birthday party for stars Danai Gurira and Lupita Nyong’o.

– Long-time “G.I. Joe” writer Larry Hama is getting his own 4-inch action figure thanks to a Kickstarter Campaign by Fresh Monkey Fiction.
