Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– Speaking of Bleeding Cool, Rich over there has a tasty rumor of a Avengers vs. The Ultimates event in 2014 that would bring the end of the Ultimate universe at Marvel. While for the most part that wouldn’t bother me, I hope if that’s the case they just let Ultimate Comics Spider-Man stand on its own. It’s a great book, and as long as Bendis wants to do it, I say let him. Either way, take this with a grain of salt given the origin of the news.
– Mark Waid put out a call for comic fans to support Christy Blanch, a college professor who has created a “Gender Through Comic Books” Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) that is free for anyone who wants partake. It sounds like a hell of a thing, as it’s going to use technology to deliver information on an oft talked about subject to the world for free, plus giving people the opportunity to partake in interviews with people like Scott Snyder, Brian K. Vaughan, Gail Simone, Matt Fraction, Waid himself and many, many more talented folks. It’s a really cool sounding initiative, and worth a look see at Waid’s site.
– Over at the Beat, they share the first ten announced guests to 2013’s Thought Bubble UK, including Gabriel Ba, Fabio Moon, Ramon Perez, Sean Murphy and more. It’s an impressive start, and it’s also great to see the new “logo” for this year’s edition, which really is more of a standalone piece of art than a logo in my book. Still cool though.
– Robot 6 has a chat with colorist Jordie Bellaire, in particular about her recent con related experience that drove the Twitter dominating #coloristappreciationday a little while back.
“I try to keep my “internet persona” pretty humorous and silly. I don’t really get “for realsies” worked up over anything online (unless it’s something Star Wars-related). When I posted this at 7 a.m. on hardly any sleep (I was in a tough deadline week, of course), I expected maybe three people to see it and those would have been just friends. Somehow, though, the letter spread fast. I was just thrilled. Given, keeping up with the response during the day totally killed my productivity, I was too busy watching the internet explode in the name of colorists.”
Not only that, but R6 has a little bit of a redesign, which is worth checking out in its own right.
