Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– This is a little bit of a “he said, she said” situation. So, in an interview on the Inkstuds Podcast, Kelly Sue DeConnick discussed how she isn’t invited to Marvel’s creative retreats. On the surface, that is incredibly not cool of Marvel. Tom Brevoort responded that she would be invited “when she’s a Marvel exclusive writer.” If this was the case for everyone at their last retreat, that would be one thing – however, as Bleeding Cool points out, there were lots of non-exclusive writers there. I’m not saying Marvel is inherently sexist, but this seems to be a situation where either coming clean or, even better, inviting one of their most talented writers to the creative retreats, would be the best course of action.
– We get a look at the Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice Batmobile and it is…a thing, isn’t it? Nothing too special, if you ask me.
– TV Guide has a photo from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premier, and it shows that not only will Agent Carter be making an appearance, but also (spoiler alert) Dum Dum Dugan and Jim Morita.
– Over at the Nerdist, there’s a chat with Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim about what exactly to expect from the “Arrow Season 2.5” digital comic. Not only will we find out why Detective Lance collapsed at the end of Season 2, but we’ll also get to visit Kahndaq!
– Andrew Garfield has said that it is “immaterial” whether or not he appears in Sinister Six. I don’t see how he couldn’t at least have a cameo, right?
– Sweet sassy molassey, there are a lot of variants for “Wytches” #1.
– “Wolverine and the X-Men” is dead; long live “Spider-Man and the X-Men!”
– Newsarama seems to think that the “new” Power Girl, introduced very recently in “Worlds’ Finest,” will be joining the Teen Titans.
– CBR speculates as to which cosmic villain Marvel might put at the center of Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
– DC is joining the tabletop gaming world by releasing a special Justice League edition of Dice Masters. I’m not a big tabletop gamer, but it sounds pretty fun. Anyone want to have a Dice Masters party at my house?
– And, finally, another example of a 3D printer doing an amazingly heartwarming thing for a young child. MAN is it dusty in here.
