Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– According to the news in the Cayman Islands, Marvel inker Norman Lee has not been found and they’ve called off the search for him due to the fact that the currents are too strong. While it’s possible he could still turn up, this is a very sad turn in the story and one that likely ends in even more sadness.
– Congrats to the team over at Valiant Comics for their rather epic deal that gets them a nine figure investment from DMG Entertainment, a Beijing-based outfit, for the purposes of developing their properties as movies and TV shows. That’s a hellacious win for them, especially with “Shadowman” and “Archer & Armstrong” already in development, and likely the next step in their plans for world domination.
– According to Brian Michael Bendis, “Miles Morales: The Ultimate Spider-Man” is ending and he’s writing a Guardians series called “Guardians of Knowhere” during “Secret Wars” with Mike Deodato drawing. Double Bendis bomb!
– In honor of International Women’s Day, Zainab Akthar writes about 10 great cartoonists you need to know for AV Club.
– Image has responded to increased demands for five different books by increasing future print runs in hopes that they’ll need to stop going to second (and third, and fourth, and fifth) prints on future releases. As Image publisher Eric Stephenson shares, they don’t want to have to do this all the time, but it’s a natural spin-off of the way the direct market is. C’est la vie.
– Joss Whedon talks about his inspiration for Ultron in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” while writing, and seemingly, the actual comic character of Ultron wasn’t a huge one. Conceptually he is, of course, but Whedon wasn’t beholden to the character’s history as he wrote, which I think is a very good thing indeed.
