Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

This forum is the “annual academic conference dedicated to promoting the scholarly study and appreciation of comic art, including comic strips, comic books, comics albums and graphic novels, magazine and newspaper cartooning, caricature, and comics in electronic media” as it says on its site. This year’s forum will be May 23 through May 25, and features guests including Fábio Moon, Gabriel Bá, Kelly Sue DeConnick, Matt Fraction, Brian Michael Bendis, Allred and more. Sounds like one hell of an event.
– Sean Murphy shared on Twitter that he re-signed (not resigned!) his exclusive DC contract for another year. Given that he’s going to be busy at work on The Wake with Scott Snyder, this is in no way surprising, but congrats to Murphy on his continued success.
– DC revealed its DC Comics Fan Family blog yesterday, giving parents a great place to take their superhero interested kids that operates as an introduction to the world of DC heroes. While I can’t help but applaud DC for this, part of me wonders how sincere they are with us having canceled the beloved Superman Family Adventures. Alas…sour grapes.
– Finally, in a story that just gets more and more depressing with each passing moment, David Brothers looks further in-depth at the whole Sullivan’s Sluggers fiasco. Personally, from here on out, we’re out on this whole deal. It’s just ugly, and Brothers effectively puts the definitive final word on it anyways. Definitely the ugly side of the business of comics.
