– Now this is a good one: Marvel’s running E is for Extinction back during Secret Wars, with Chris Burnham writing and Ramon Villalobos on art. That’s a pretty damn pitch perfect team if I’ve ever seen one. I still have no damn clue what Marvel’s doing with this – it really feels like the ultimate “throw shit against the wall and see if it sticks” situation – but a good team on a good concept is good enough for me.

– Apparently there also is a Future Imperfect series coming, written by Peter David (hell yes!) and illustrated by Greg Land (GOD NO!). That’s like the definition of sweet and sour without the alchemy that makes it special. Following George Perez with Greg Land is maybe the only way to ensure that I don’t buy a Future Imperfect book. Good call, Marvel.

– On one hand, this preview for Chip Zdarsky and Joe Quinones’ “Howard the Duck” #1 is really amazing, and even features some of our favorite characters from Soule and Pulido’s “She-Hulk”. On the other hand, the gallery function ComicBook.com uses for the preview is an abomination that can burn in hell.

– The LA Times Book Prize graphic novel finalists have been announced, and there are some choice selections amidst their number, including my personal favorite, Jillian and Mariko Tamaki’s “This One Summer”.

– Emerald City ComiCon is all about inclusivity, and at this year’s con, they’ll be featuring not just men’s bathrooms and women’s bathrooms, but all gender restrooms as well.

– Scot Eaton will be taking over art duties on Valiant’s “Imperium”, and that’s a happy fit for me, personally. I’ve always thought Eaton was an underrated artist.
