Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– Collider is spreading word that the upcoming Green Lantern reboot would feature multiple human Lanterns, with John Stewart among them. Good to hear he’s going to still get work once he’s finished with The Daily Show.
– In an interview with IGN, Jason Latour and Robbie Rodriguez will continue writing “Spider-Gwen” with a new #1. The series will feature Gwen staying on her own world, confirming that the multiverse will come back in some form after “Secret Wars”. As cool as it would be to see Gwen in the 616, we’re kind of glad there’s not going to be a comic where Peter Parker tries to flirt with the underage version of his dead girlfriend.
– Former Multiversity Comics Brah David Harper wrote an excellent longford piece for SKTCHD about the finances of comics artists. It’s well worth a look if you’re interested in becoming a part of the comics industry.
– BOOM! Studios has hired Dark Horse editor Stephanie Hahn as their Senior Editor. Check out the full press release from CBR.
– According to Anime News Network, Avengers: Age of Ultron will receive a manga prequel before the film’s Japanese release on July 4th. Though details remain scarce, the prequel will allegedly focus on Stark building a body pillow that decides to conquer the world.
– In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, everyone’s favorite comics site, Tom Brevoort revealed that Adam Kubert will join Mark Waid and Mahmud Asrar on “All-New All-Different Avengers.” He also talked a bit about the new series, including this bit that ensured I will buy every issue: “Half the team goes to school. They’ve got hours of operation, and if they get stuck in Zimbabwe, somebody’s going to have to write the absentee slips.” Can you Tony arguing with Kamala’s teaches at the Parent Teacher conference? Can you imagine Miles Morales trying to explain how he’s enrolled in his new school? This shouldn’t even be a super hero comic, just a high school comedy.
