Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– Brian Hibbs does what Brian Hibbs does in his latest Tilting at Windmills column at CBR, as he drops truth bombs about the way DC’s Villains Month performed and the realities for retailers when they’re ordering things like Marvel’s “AXIS” and its infinite number of tie-ins.
– Apparently Robert Downey, Jr. was given the gigantic “A” from the Avengers film, which he now has prominently placed in his Venice office. The article is at least partially interesting because you learn that he has an office in Venice – I presume the one in Italy – and that it is large enough to house a 30 foot tall vowel.
– Let’s Be Friends Again tackles Wolverine’s history after his death, and good god is it fantastic. I particularly enjoy how more and more text continues to invade the panels as his history grows increasingly convoluted. Comics, everybody!
– Salon writes about how science fiction comics are better than science fiction movies, which is neat but I find it interesting the writer never really explained how that’s the case. It just kind of read like a list of neat sci-fi comics? Soo…that’s cool. Like “Alex + Ada”!
– The finalists for the 2014 British Comic Awards have been announced, and congrats to all the nominees, particularly team WicDiv and Allison Sampson. Well deserved nominations, for sure.
– Declan Shalvey just can’t leave his old friend Moon Knight behind, as you can see in this carved pumpkin. That’s some hot stuff there.
