Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.

– I can’t say this is very surprising, but DC has cancelled Gail Simone/Freddie Williams’s “The Movement” with issue #12. Simone took to her Tumblr to explain the situation. Simone, as usual, takes the high road, and doesn’t point any fingers for the book’s lack of commercial success. While that may, in fact, be true, DC certainly didn’t push the book as strongly as it does some higher profiled books. At this point, can any new book (not starring Batman, Superman or a Lantern) survive at DC?
– The first grainy cellphone footage from the set of Avengers: Age of Ultron has hit the internet.
– “A+X” is ending with #18 – but you already knew that. What you may not know is that Brian Michael Bendis and Kevin Nowlan are no longer working on the final issue.
– ReedPOP, the company behind New York Comic Con and C2E2, is launching “Special Edition: NYC” for this June, a purely comics-based show in New York City. This has potential to be something special, or something that falls flat on its face. We’ll find out June 14th and 15th!
– Ron Marz, as part of his “Shelf Life” column, put a page of “Shinku” out there and invited artists to interpret it however they saw fit. 43 people took the challenge – see the results here.
– Toy Fair is upon us, and there are a ton of gorgeous looking toys debuting this week. Anyone want to spot me a Mr. Mxyzptlk and a Hyperion?
– And, finally, is DC bringing back “Shadow of the Bat” to replace its very quietly cancelled “Legends of the Dark Knight” digital first series?
