Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– A Jim Zub/Filipe Andrade comic? That’s awesome news! The news is slightly tempered by the fact that it is from the Disney Kingdoms line which, apparently, only does comics based on theme park attractions. Still, that creative team should be able to tell the tale of a Disney park bench and make it awesome.
– Stan Sakai’s family has had a rough couple of years, and the comics community has been awesome about stepping up to help Stan out. A number of pieces of art have already hit eBay, with the proceeds going to Stan’s family. Do a good deed, pick up a piece of amazing art, and help out one of the true greats.
– Michael B. Jordan has spoken out on the backlash he received as the new Human Torch in the upcoming Fantastic Four film. He’s a class act, and handles it quite well.
– Remember Green Lantern: The Animated Series? The show was pulled way too early for no apparent reason? Yeah, that one. Well, it is coming out on Blu-Ray. If you’re a fan of the DCAU, this deserves a spot on your shelf.
– IGN has a nice preview of “All-New Ultimates” #1 up and, unsurprisingly, it looks great.
– Marvel Unlimited is having an insane sale during SxSW this year. Take advantage!
– IDW is adapting the famous Harlon Ellison-penned Star Trek episode, “The City on the Edge of Forever,” with J.K. Woodward doing painted interiors.
– Good news! More comic shops opened than closed last year!
– And, finally, the headline speaks for itself: Malaysia has banned Ultraman.
