Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the weekend. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.

– Ron Perlman has given up hope on playing that lovable lug, Hellboy, any longer. “He’s busy and I’m busy,” Perlman said about Guillermo del Toro during a roundtable discussion about their latest project, Trollhunter. “Maybe one day he’s going to call and say, ‘Hey, let’s do it.’ But for now? We’re happy discovering new worlds to conquer.” In the interim, we at least have two pretty fun movies. Perlman and del Toro’s collaboration continues with the Netflix series, Trollhunters, premiering in December.

– Lion Forge is launching a new children’s imprint called CubHouse. Targeted toward audiences 12 and under, Lion Forge founder David Steward promises to “produce quality comics, graphic novels, and visual literature for all kids”. The imprint is being guided by editor Andrea Colvin. This also follows Lion Forge’s acquisition of Magnetic Press.

Lion Forge also announced Catalyst Prime, a shared superhero universe under the direction of Joe Illidge. Creators like Amy Chu, David F. Walker, Alex De Campi, and Joe Casey are lined up to contribute to these titles.

The Hollywood Reporter has offered their list of the 100 Greatest Superhero Comics. How many have you read? Obviously there will be some contention with the list, but I gotta applaud The Hollywood Reporter for not saying using superhero comics to describe all comics.

– Check out the trailer for the film adaptation of Joe Casey and Chris Burnham’s Officer Down.

– You probably already saw this, but here’s the trailer for the upcoming Power Rangers reboot.

– Since we’re talking about trailers, here’s the new preview for the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 2, which premiered at New York City Comic Con.

– For anyone interested in the direction of the comics industry, specifically the single-issue magazine side of things (called the Direct Market, run by corporate overlords Diamond Distributors), Karen Berger has some words of caution. Berger is of course a veteran of the industry and is responsible for guiding many of your favorite comics.

– I have no idea who Chloe Eudaly is, but she’s running for City Council in Portland. The important thing to note about this is her campaign literature is bring produced by the one and only Joe Sacco.
