Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at rundown@multiversitycomics.com.
– Dynamite is releasing a new “Vampirella” series next year with Paul Cornell and Jimmy Broxton. The team’s vision for Vampirella (to your left) looks a lot more sensible than the typical Vampirella who’s usually wear a barely there bathing suit with a collar. Predictably, gross guys have already taken to Twitter to complain about the changes but Dynamite’s releasing the first issue for twenty five cents so looks like the world’s karma has balanced out.
Mike Colter was on Conan promoting Luke Cage and said that Marvel’s so protective of their scripts you need a DNA sample to access them. They also have people following their actors at all times in case they leave their scripts in Starbucks or leak who dies on The Defenders to their spouses. Colter was probably joking, but I’m inclined to believe him considering my friend was a PA for Jessica Jones and has been tailed by Kevin Feige for a whole year now.
– Netflix released a teaser for the new Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events series. And y’all did you know Patrick Warburton’s playing Lemony Snicket? Patrick Warburton is playing Lemony Snicket.
– Hugh Jackman said that we can expect to see something from the new Wolverine movie in the next week. “And then I’ll be free”, Jackman added, wistfully glancing at a nearby TV playing his production of Oklahoma! “I’ll be able to go home.”
