The Rundown: Pak and Kuder on “Action Comics” (maybe?), Friedich 1, Marvel 1, and more

According to Bleeding Cool, “pretty decent sources” say that after Scott Lobdell finishes filling in on “Action Comics,” the team of writer Greg Pak and artist Aaron Kuder will be taking over the book. If this is in fact the case, I have to applaud the decision. Pak is a guy who is great at giving even the most surprising characters true humanity, and he’s handling Superman on “Batman/Superman” with Jae Lee already. Aaron Kuder is a new-ish artist, but man, he’s seen a meteoric rise since following Chris Burnham on the Coheed & Cambria comics – and deservedly so. The guy is a huge talent. Here’s hoping that’s one rumor that ends up being true.

– In a surprise decision, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a previous decision that meant Marvel ended with complete control over Ghost Rider, leaving co-creator Gary Friedrich with nothing. This means that they’ll be headed to another trial, and who knows what will happen with that, but I am sure there are a lot of comic creators out there who are heartened by this decision.

– Remember when DC Comics did an IndieGoGo fundraising campaign for the “We Can Be Heroes” charity they put on? They’re doing it again, this time on a purely Superman front, with all kinds of signed swag and digital downloads. While I think this whole thing is a little strange, it’s for a good cause (probably) and might be worth your time. Check it out!

– Robot 6 shares Jock’s Instagram look into rough layouts for his upcoming “Savage Wolverine” arc, and I have to agree: I would totally love to buy a book of just that. Check it out.
