Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– When will “The Walking Dead” – the comic, not the TV show – end? We don’t know when, but writer/creator Robert Kirkman does know how it will end, as he told Entertainment Weekly.
I do know what I’m building toward, yes,” confirms Kirkman. “I don’t know exactly what issue that’s going to fall on, per se, and I do have a lot of road laid out before that that is going to take a long time, but I certainly know exactly what I’m building to.”
Don’t worry though, Deadheads. We may know it’s coming, but I can promise you, it won’t be ending any time soon. I think.
– If you’re a fan of Erik Larsen’s “Savage Dragon”, the potential of a film just got a lot more likely as Larsen has completed a screenplay for an adaptation. I used to be a fan of the book but haven’t read it in a long time, but I have to feel like it’s sort of missed its window for adaptation. But who knows. A “Big Hero 6” movie is coming very soon, so anything is possible in today’s film industry.
– Are you a retailer and want to quiz Marvel’s bigwigs on the decisions they make and are making? Well you might just get your chance at NYCC this year, if you’d like to, as they’re hosting a Meet Marvel Editorial event at the vaunted comic con.
– This 50th Anniversary edition of “Creepy” looks pretty freaking rad.
– Lena Dunham talks about her upcoming work in the world of Archie, and for those that were deeply concerned, the “Girls” star and creator will not be feeding everyone a steady stream of Betty and Veronica being naked. Your purity will continue on for another day.
– Tom Taylor’s graphic novel “The Deep” is being adapted into a CGI show by a partnership of French out fit Technicolor, Canada’s Nerd Corps Entertainment and Australia’s A Stark Production. This multinational production will come in the form of 26 half-hour episodes. Congrats to Taylor, a guy who has had a hell of a rise over the past few years.
– Looking for a job in the comic industry? Have an editorial background? Well, maybe you can be one of the next editors at the fabled Vertigo Comics?
