Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– On a day that also brought the death of Roger Ebert, tragedy struck the comic industry as legend Carmine Infantino – a man who revolutionized The Flash (Barry Allen) and brought DC to a new creative level as its publisher (he brought Kirby over!!) – passed away at the age of 87. While he’s not as large of a name as people like Lee or Kirby, Infantino was incredibly influential, and you could see just how much as creators shared what he meant to them all day on Twitter yesterday. Rest in peace Carmine.

– Jim Zubkavich gets down and dirty with some truth bombs as he continues his creator education series. This time he looks at what Skullkickers has earned as a creator-owned book, how the collections impact profits, how digital enhances the book, and much more. The results are frankly surprising, but Zubkavich continues to have wonderful angles on subjects – I like that he factors the freelance work he got from doing Skullkickers in – and its a worthwhile read both for aspiring creators and your average Joe’s like yours truly. Keep up the great work, Jim!

– Over at Robot 6, they have a look at an 8-bit cover coming for “Avengers A.I.” (those are hot right now, as this is right on the heels of Valiant doing the same thing) and at the new Zatanna costume that is coming for her when she joins the Justice League in issue #22. oN stnap!

– Do you want a M.O.D.O.K. coffee mug? Of course you do.
