Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email our team at either david@multiversitycomics.com or brian@multiversitycomics.com.
– I don’t think is necessarily surprising, but I am sure a large number of people will be disappointed by this news: Robert Downey Jr. confirms that Marvel, as of right now, has no plans for Iron Man 4. In addition, he clarifies to the Variety reporter that he is not the head of casting for Marvel Studios, and therefore can’t really comment on whether or not someone else would ever play the role.
– I am not much of a gamer nowadays, but from what I gather the Rockstar Arkham series consists of two very dope games. Well, folks, get set for the third. On my thirty-third birthday, June 2, 2015, Rockstar will release “Arkham Knight,” the final installment in their Arkham trilogy. And in case you are one of those crazies who doesn’t think video games are expensive enough, don’t worry! There are two different limited editions with statues, an 80 page comics and, most importantly, New 52 character skins.
– The season premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. won’t just feature the usual cast. Nor will it just feature some part-time castmembers, both new and old, like Patton Oswalt and Lucy Lawless. Nope, it’ll feature Agent Carter herself, Hayley Atwell and, playing himself, former White House Press Secretary/Good Morning America co-host George Stephanopoulos. Why not?
– That same article also reveals that a new cast member has joined Constantine – Emmett Scanlan of BBC’s Atlantis has joined the show as Jim Corrigan, the one-day Spectre. I am really curious to see how Constantine handles the more supernatural DC co-stars.
– Ron Perazza has left Marvel, where he was working in the digital realm, to become the new Creative Director for Amazon Publishing. This is a real coup for Amazon, and we wish Ron the best of luck in his new job.
– Dan DiDio is hinting a potential new DC “Crisis” on his Facebook. Hopefully it involves the DCU getting rid of an obnoxious, overzealous New Yorker who insists on stupid ideas like the need for a crisis every ten years.
– “Afterlife with Archie” is getting its own oversized magazine edition, reprinting the earlier issues in a larger format, with new backmatter. The first issue of the magazine will be out just in time for Halloween.
– Karl Urban says that if another Dredd movie is made, it would probably be a prequel. I can dig it.
– To celebrate the release of Vol. 2 in trade, Ales Kot is giving away digital copies of “Zero” #9 for the next few days. Get ’em now!
– And, finally, shut up, I’m not crying, you’re crying!
