Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– At a recent DC retailer roadshow, DC honcho Dan Didio talked about a little of everything, but most interesting to me were two points: DC is taking a loss on all of the lenticular/3D covers they sell in Villains Month, and that Didio blames the uproar of the DC creative changes on social media. I’m not sure anything could underline their problems more than taking a loss on an unnecessary and generally poorly received event (at least conceptually) knowingly, and pawning off readers not liking the creative turmoil as something overstated by social media. Feels like a guy who is a bit out of touch to me.
– X-Men First Class: Days of Future Past has been moved up to a May 23, 2014 release date from July 18. This is, in my opinion, a power move. It’s going from a late summer spot to a Memorial Day spot, which means Fox? They’re putting their eggs all up in this basket.
– It seems Jeff Lemire and Rafael Albuquerque are working together on something, which I deem “very freaking cool.” They could make some good comics together. Maybe it’s time for that Canadian Vampire book to finally happen.
– Apparently, there is going to be an Independence Day sequel, and it will simply be called something like “Independence Day 2.” Ignoring the fact this is a stupid idea for a sequel – if any big budget movie didn’t need one, it’s this – I wanted to comment on something my 4 Color co-host Brandon Burpee said. Are they going to call it “ID2” for short? The first one was “ID4,” so does that mean this is half the movie?
– For those that are wondering where Scarlet is, Brian Michael Bendis said the seventh issue is at the printer, and may I add it has a SPECTACULAR cover.
